ABOUT MICHAELA SCHWARZ-WEISMANN

Michaela Schwarz‑Weissmann, born 1973 in Innsbruck and now based in Vienna, studied architecture and design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under luminaries like Paolo Piva and Borek Sipek, before earning her Master’s in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art in London.


Her art series such as Sleeping MenTurn, and Second Thoughts explore themes of intimacy, political reflection, and inner life. With one of her diploma pieces acquired for the altar of the Mauthausen memorial chapel in 2003, Michaela’s work continues to engage viewers with subtle but striking presence.
